In this article, the author refers to the operability and effects of limitation periods. He mentions that limitation does not admit interruption or suspension, with the exception of subsection 8 of Article 1994 of the Civil Code, which consists of the impossibility of claiming the right before a Peruvian court. The purpose of this commentary is to clarify the scope and implications of the terminology used and the effects of the provisions contained in Article 2005 of the Civil Code and a recent practical application of the normative exception of said article, as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
