Christian Collantes is a founding partner of Steck, Tapia, Collantes Abogados and has more than 10 years of experience in Contract Law, Construction Law and, especially, in National and International Arbitration.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude as a lawyer from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Arbitration at the Universidad de La Rioja (Spain) and has postgraduate studies in Commercial Arbitration and Investor–State Arbitration at the American University, Washington College of Law, where he obtained the grade of notable.
He has participated in more than 300 arbitrations as counsel, arbitrator and arbitral secretary, developing a 360–degree view of disputes.
He takes part in local and international arbitrations under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce, the Lima Chamber of Commerce, AMCHAM, among others, and serves as arbitrator in the main arbitration centers of Peru, Mexico, Chile, Bolivia and Panama.
Furthermore, Christian is a recognized specialist in Construction Law and an active member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation. He has advised on the execution of emblematic and highly complex public and private infrastructure projects, as well as on Dispute Boards under FIDIC, NEC and Government–to–Government schemes.
In addition, he is an author in local and international publications such as Kluwer Arbitration, Themis, Ius Et Veritas, Gaceta Jurídica, among others, as well as a recurrent lecturer and member of renowned international associations such as ICC YAF, RAI, ICDR Y&I. He also participates as arbitrator in academic arbitration competitions worldwide.
